DIY After Sun Spray
I hate to admit this after my rant a few weeks ago about my miserable camping experience, but we went camping again last week- in a tent. Call me a glutton for punishment but my Mom’s on a camping kick (something about making memories with the grandkids, yada yada) and she actually planned to take her four granddaughters, ages 7 to 11, camping by herself for two nights. As much as I wasn’t looking forward to sleeping on the ground again, I didn’t want her to have to shoulder the burden of cooking, cleaning up and keeping track of all those girls alone. So I did what any good daughter would do and slept on the ground in a tent- after I said I would never do it again. (Your welcome, Mom!)
I have to say I did sleep better this time (no noisy neighbors and kids who actually SLEPT helped a lot) and we did have a great time making memories. The sun was out in full force last weekend and camping for two days equals a lot more time in the sun than usual! If you’ve been soaking up the sun this summer (and you should be), here’s your friendly reminder to get enough time in the sun to build up some Vitamin D– but not so much that you burn, baby!
Should, however, you find yourself turning a not-so-lovely shade of pink during your summer adventures, I’ve got the cure for what ails ya! This After Sun Spray is full of soothing, cooling and healing essential oils that will give you relief from the burn ASAP while going to work to soothe and repair your skin deep down.
Peppermint essential oil is very cooling, instantly helping your body release the heat, while lavender has a soothing effect, reducing the pain as well as repairing the damage done to your skin. We love this spray at our house for those days when we’ve overstayed our welcome in the outdoors. Give it a try!
